Very bad company to go with for…

Very bad company to go with for internet, Price went up for service after 6 months. If I would've known there was a fee for leasing equipment after this time period I would not have signed up. I was not informed of this charge which is $14.99 per month. I was taken advantage of. Also signal goes out during rain or storms. Bad choice in this company. Will be cancelling my contract and going with someone who doesn't charge so much for equipment rental.

Very satisfied with the installation

Very satisfied with the installation. The engineer took pains to find a spot on my property with the necessary clear view to the South where the satellite is located. He accommodated my request where the modem would be located in the house. There was an initial problem with the download speed, but a call to support fixed this quickly. I'm very happy to have broadband in this remote location in Vermont where my only other option was slow DSL.

Friday I called HughsNet because I had intermittent serve for several days. Service was restored while I was on the phone. Saturday there was no service again. After trying to reach tech service several times using three different phone numbers, I gave up. I still don’t have service.

Issue with installation of new LTE…

Issue with installation of new LTE Network Extender. After several attempts, was connected with Hughes representative, and issue was resolved. Many thanks to the representative who, with much patience and knowledge of the product, was able to get us connected.

Had to pay my bill

Had to pay my bill. Recently lost my debit card due to some fraud that had occurred. The man was very nice and helped me set up my payment using my checking account.

I was without internet service for…17 days

I was without internet service for almost three weeks. HughesNet contracts with other people to do the service and those people did not come when scheduled the first time. There was not apology and the technician was condescending and dismissive. He also gave me advice that another call to complain about slow speed led me to the opposite advice. Where I live requires a satellite service and Hughes worked as well as any other for almost 6 years, but I was certainly disappointed in the response when things went wrong. The last interaction was much better customer service. I still did not get an apology, but I was given some discount off a few months of my bill.

I HAD A TECHNICAL ISSUE WITH MY COMPUTER, AND THE SUPPORT PERSON, JEFF, KNEW EXACTLY HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM, IT WAS MY NORTON 360 SECURITY THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEMS. NOW THE COMPUTER IS SO MUCH FASTER. EASY PEEZIE FIX.

TERRIBLE, DO NOT USE!

TERRIBLE! DO NOT USE. Save yourself the headache and go with a provider that cares about their clients. Tried to cancel on multiple occasions and have been denied without paying cancelation fees. Install was done incorrectly, installer was a jerk, and injury occurred due to incorrect install. Haven't used their services but still expect you to pay. Offered to send equipment back but was denied. Customer service reps give you different answers and the run around. Ridiculous! Will never recommend anyone ever use this service.

Customer service is very bad. Can barely understand them. And they hang up on you no have a nice day or thank you for calling HughsNet. Nothing. That is very rude. Service is ok.

I have had a good experience with…

I have had a good experience with HughesNet. The only thing that I'm concerned about is at times the speed is slower than others. I am really far out in the boonies. I'm sure that's contributing to this issue. When I needed help getting reconnected, the person I spoke with was very patient and kind. So you do have resources to connect with when you're having issues with service or connecting.

A:

We were told by neighbors that there were no other options. However, this was not accurate and there are certainly better providers in our area now!

How easy is it to get a hold of customer service at HughesNet?

A:

Horrible. And, even if you reach someone to question the throttling and buffering issues, the response will be, "I can see that you have multiple Rokus connected to your system!" I may have a couple of televisions in my home, but I only watch 1 at a time. This company may understand the concept of customer service but, they do not deliver any. They continually sidestep complaints.

I would rather have a colonoscopy than have to contact the pathetic customer service at Hughesnet. I hope you have all day available if you have a problem to resolve. The just keep putting you through their lovely call system which hypnotizes you with the same single melody to render you a drooling waste of flesh. I am on hour two right now! I was on hold for over an hour with a supervisor and now they have hung up on me three times. This is how the resolve issues people! Hide and seek!

Easy to get a hold of thembut you do not get any help i have had problems with net work issues regarding u tube have spoken to 4 techs and still have the issue. Have consulted a computer repair shop about this and was told i have a bad inter net connection... they suck
